Responsible for overall performance of the Functional Optimization Project. The Functional Optimization Project was charged with optimizing the my|CalPERS system which is the single system responsible for managing Retirement and Health benefits for 1.6 million California Employees, Retirees, and their families. The my|CalPERS system sets the foundation for using the Internet as a primary channel for conducting business and providing the convenience of employer, partner, and member self-service, Contract Management, and Financial Management. The roll out of the my|CalPERS system included an enterprise architecture, conversion and cleansing of more than 50 years’ worth of data records, 90 million document images, an integrated corporate database, 108 interfaces, and an information management system that sources financial and business intelligence systems.
Scott and his team were responsible for:
- Building project schedule timeframes, work estimates, cross team dependencies
- Staff management
- Quality management
- Developing contract amendments and work authorizations
- Negotiating warranty terms
- Negotiating operations and maintenance billing terms
- Managing scope changes with client Project Manager
- Project progress tracking (Earned Value, SPI, CPI) for Accenture leadership
- Managing project financials
- Managing over 10 sub-contracts
- Working with Accenture and CalPERS Public Affairs office
