Scott Cleland of Sorello Solutions has the privilege to serve as the Project Director on the FTB EDR2 Project. The EDR2 Project is the second phase of a multi-phase tax modernization plan for the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB). The primary focus of EDR2 is to build upon enterprise process improvements, serve more taxpayers and increase revenue for the State of California through improvements to audit/legal, filing enforcement and collections.
Implemented in four major design phases over 54 months, EDR2 addresses the modernization of FTB’s technology environment by moving legacy compliance systems to the enterprise platform and enterprise data stores. The project includes the following components:
- Expanding case management to audit/legal, filing enforcement and collections
- Continuing to automate manual processes
- Expanding the data warehouse
- Increasing audit modeling and fraud detection
- Improving various business functions including case selection, workload management and knowledge management
- Increased customer self-service and education services, and customer experience improvements for California taxpayers
Scott is currently leading the vendor team of over 300 resources on this 5 year project.
